Fall At Arrowhead: Nature’s Grandeur in Full Display
Autumn at the Arrowhead Golf Course brings an exquisite palette of colors. The trees lining the fairways glow in full spectrum hues of red, yellow, and brown. As golfers traverse the picturesque landscape, they can enjoy a respite from the summer heat with temperatures ranging from mid 70s to 80s. For golf enthusiasts, a strategic approach to the Cypress nine – reputed for its ruthless collection of doglegs and hazards – can be eased by the softening greens across the course. Fall, with its perfect weather and fewer crowds, is an ideal time to visit.
Winter Play Equals Winter Fun
Come winter, the Arrowhead Golf Course transforms into a tranquil haven. The Bermuda grass turns into a carpet of mild brown highlighted by the winter sun. Winter golf in Myrtle Beach offers affordable rates and quick rounds due to fewer players. All three of Arrowhead’s courses – The Lakes, Cypress and Waterway Nines –remain open in winter, provided the temperature stays above freezing. Golfing in the winter might require some extra layers, but the charms of the season are plenty.
Spring Break – Swing into Action
Spring in Arrowhead is a golfer’s delight. As the trees start to bloom, the golf course turns into a spectacular view of greenery. The Lakes nine, known for the wide fairways and large greens, gets drenched in sunlight. This season proves to be perfect for honing your skills and preparing for the golfing prime time. Spring break brings along with it a surge of golfers looking to escape from the tedium of the cooler months, injecting a lively spirit into the course.
Summers at Arrowhead: A Golfer’s Paradise
Summers at Arrowhead are vibrant and full of life with long, warm days offering ample opportunity for golf. The Waterway nine, famous for its scenic Intracoastal Waterway views, makes for a sight to behold. As the temperatures soar, the course maintains its green, thanks to the well-drained, Bermuda Grass fairways. Scheduled tee times, good course management, and the local sea breeze all combine to keep play fast, fun, and enjoyable in the peak of summer.

Great break down of the different seasons at Arrowhead. I visited last fall and had a blast. Spot on with the ruthless doglegs and hazards on Cypress. Looking forward to trying out the other courses.
This blog describes the Arrowhead experience beautifully! Makes me want to book a trip right away. I have a question though: How crowded does it get during spring? Would love to avoid the usual spring break rush.
Never been to Myrtle Beach before, but this blog post surely paints a tempting picture. Maybe it’s about time I plan a golf trip. The Waterway nine looks like an enticing challenge. Can’t wait to see those views in person!
Arrowhead is always incredible to play in whatever season. Though I’ve to say, Spring and Fall are my favorite times to play there. The course conditions are usually excellent and the scenery is always stunning. BTW, what’s the average pace of play in peak season?
Played Arrowhead last winter and bundled up more than I’d have liked, but man, the tranquil beauty was worth it. Winter golf has its own charm, especially with those quick rounds. Anyone tried the Cypress nine in winter? Any tips?
Great read! Now, I keep thinking about those ‘ruthless collection of doglegs and hazards’. Sounds like my kind of fun! But, where’s the section on the best 19th hole drinks at Arrowhead, huh? 😉
I love the summers at Arrowhead! Yes, it gets a bit hot, but the Waterway nine’s views are nothing short of spectacular. Plus, the sea breeze is a lifesaver — both for us and the well-maintained greens!
As a regular at Arrowhead, I can vouch for everything said in this post. From the carpet-like Bermudagrass in winters to the vibrant summers, every season is a delight! But I must say, Fall truly is a spectacle with the array of colors you get to see. Oh and let’s not forget the temperate weather. Can’t wait to get back there in September.
